Facilities

Lakeland School Corporation is committed to providing the community with updated and well-maintained facilities. We have a dedicated staff of maintenance and custodial personnel that keep our buildings and grounds safe and clean to enhance student learning.

The school corporation is comprised of six buildings. They are Lakeland High School, Lakeland Middle School, Lima-Brighton Elementary, Parkside Elementary, Wolcott Mills Elementary, and the Administration Office.

In 1999, Lakeland School Corporation did renovations to Lakeland High School. Classrooms were updated. We also added new classrooms as well as an auxiliary gym and fitness center.

The auxiliary gym is equipped with three basketball courts, walking track, weight room, wrestling room, and men’s and women’s locker rooms. The walking track is open to residents of the Lakeland School Corporation community daily with access to the weight room after 5:00p.m. Anyone who would like to use the facility needs to see our Athletic Department. The fee is $10 and you will receive a pass that is good for one year. We encourage our citizens to take advantage of the facility.

For additional information about Lakeland School Corporation’s facilities, please contact Cathy Phillip at (260) 499-2400 or e-mail her at cphillip@lakeland.k12.in.us.

Food service

The mission of Lakeland School Corporation’s Food service Department is to provide affordable, appealing, and nutritious meals for all students. We believe that a well-balanced meal contributes to a positive and effective learning environment.

Lakeland School Corporation participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. We also are currently in the process of adopting two new policies. The first is for wellness. We believe all food served during a school day should be healthy. This will help teach children about nutrition as well as promote a better lifestyle. The second policy being developed is to make sure that foods prepared in our cafeterias are prepared correctly to avoid any health hazards.

For more information about our Food service Department, please contact Tammy Fennel at (260) 499-2425 or e-mail her at tfennell@lakeland.k12.in.us.

Transportation

It is the goal of the Lakeland School Corporation Transportation Department that all students be transported safely.

Lakeland School Corporation owns and operates its own fleet of school buses. All students who live within the school corporation’s boundaries and do not live within the school’s walking zone are eligible to receive school provided transportation to and from school.

Northeast Indiana Special Education Cooperative provides alternative transportation for students with special needs. If your student is transported by the NEISC, you may contact them at 800-589-5236.

For information on bus routes, please call Jake Bell at (260) 499-2400 or e-mail him at jbell@lakeland.k12.in.us.
