Welcome to our website. I hope that if you are a current student or parent that you will join my weekly blog and give us feedback on many topics. My blog is posted at http://lakelandlakerssuperintendentblog.blogspot.com/.

If you are exploring our website to potentially attend a Lakeland school, I would highly recommend you call the school and ask the principal questions after you have researched us. You will find we offer a vast, robust 21st Century curriculum in all grades! We are rich in technology and feature character development using our C.L.A.S.S. system in the elementary schools, and our START.SMART program in the middle grades. When you attend Lakeland you are receiving 21st century skills necessary to be competitive in the workplace and at college. In addition to the normal subjects, we teach you confidence by building communication skills, working in teams, and we teach you individual work ethic as well. Initiative and leadership are encouraged in all grades. All of the schools live our mission of educating and preparing ALL students for career and life success. Check out our roadmap to success from our partners at Northeast Indiana’s Talent Initiative: http://talentmadehere.com/.

At our Leading EDGE high school, we feature many classes normally only found in the large suburban/urban schools. By offering them in a close-knit, rural setting we are able to get the best of both worlds. We feature New Tech Network classes, Engineering, Biomedicine, Criminal Justice, Health Occupations, dozens of career and technical courses, and advanced placement courses. Additionally, as a freshman you can begin earning college credit right here on campus, and dual credit courses extend to ALL students if they meet the pre-requisites in grades 9-12. We have four regional partnerships for reducing the college course costs and some may be free for you. If you want to explore a career, Lakeland features over 100 community partners who are willing to host interns or speak with you about your career exploration. Check out our Leading EDGE website at http://newtech.lakeland.k12.in.us/. Our high school course guide will show you the possibilities for your future at Lakeland's Leading EDGE: http://www.lakeland.k12.in.us/Portals/33/Documents/CourseCatalog2012-2013.pdf.

Of course, Lakeland offers after school clubs, academic teams, and many athletic choices. In a close-knit community, we care for the overall development of our students and the community greatly supports our students' after school events. Again, I encourage you to visit us and call us if you have questions. Lakeland is a great place to live and learn.

We are an open enrollment school. Residents of Indiana may attend through an application process based on availability.
