Saturday May 6th, the Lakeland English Academic team won The 2017 Indiana Super Bowl State Championship at Purdue. The English Academic Team of Emily M., Kiara S. & Arianna S., coached by Leah Stoltzfus won first in their class, beating Bishop Dwenger, Mount Vernon, Reitz Memorial, and Western Schools at the Loeb Playhouse on the Purdue Campus! They took 1st place after the first tiebreaker against Bishop Dwenger. Lakeland and Bishop Dwenger both answered 22 out of 25 questions correct, more than any other competing schools in the state of Indiana. Lakeland English Academic team qualified for the Indiana Academic Super Bowl by placing second in class 2 at the regional meet before going on to win the 2017 State Championship.
